Handsome fold-out 1936 Conoco road map of Ohio, printed more than 84 years ago.
The map opens to 18" x 24" and has great detail on old highway alignments and route numbers, with cartography by H.M. Gousha.
On the reverse side there are inset plans of Akron, Columbus, Dayton, Toledo, Youngstown, Springfield, Cleveland, and Cincinnati.
The map was published in 1936 by the Continental Oil Company of Denver, Colorado to promote its Conoco brand gasoline and motor oil.
It is dated by the code number in the lower margin: J-2. Population data is from the 1930 census.
Little triangles locate Conoco service stations throughout the state.
