    Description

Vintage fold-out 1942 Conoco road map of Oklahoma, printed more than 77 years ago.
The map opens to 18" x 23½" and has great detail on old highway alignments, including Route 66, with cartography by H.M. Gousha.
On the reverse side there are inset plans of Ardmore, Enid, McAlester, Muskogee, Okmulgee, Ponca City, Tulsa, and Oklahoma City.
The map was distributed by the Continental Oil Company of Denver in 1942 and is dated by the code number in the lower margin: 11-P. Population data is from the 1940 census.
Little triangles locate dozens of Conoco service stations in the state.
