Description:
A beautiful crisp uncirculated banknote from Portugal. This is the May 28, 1968 fifty Escudos Ouro. The banknote has a dark brown design over a multi-colored background. The design shows Infanta Dona Maria to the right of the front and a scene of the city of Sintra in 1507 on the back. This particular note has the serial number BT 70914 shown twice in black on the front but not on the back. The note has two signatures, a water mark showing Infanta D Maria, and a segmented security thread left of center in the front. Please carefully review the scan presented as it is part and parcel of our description.
Date:
May 28, 1968.
Printer:
Bank of Portugal.
Size:
The banknote measures ~5 5/8" by ~2 3/4".
Pick Number:
P 174a.
Condition:
I would grade this banknote as a crisp uncirculated with all the details being very well preserved. The note is perfectly preserved with the paper being clean, crisp, and firm, without discoloration. Corners are sharp and square, without any evidence of rounding. It has no tears, splits, soiling, stains, or pinholes. The note retains its original natural sheen. This is a beautiful rare note which would make a great addition to your collection of Portuguese banknotes. Please see photo for additional condition information.
