    Description

    (3 Bottles, 180 Capsules)
    (Manufactured in USA)
    African Mango
(Irvingia gabonensis), also known as bush mango, is indigenous
to Africa. It has a fleshy fruit often used to make wine, and it is a good
source of vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates and fiber. All parts of the plant can be used,
but the kernel or seed is the part that is utilized the most for medicinal
    purposes.
The African mango is purported to have antibacterial, astringent, analgesic,
anti-inflammatory and antioxidative properties. Traditionally, African mango
has been used to treat a variety of conditions, including diarrhea, wounds,
dysentery, yellow fever and tympanic membrane infections. It might also be
helpful in lowering cholesterol and blood sugar levels. In addition, African
mango is used for weight loss because it may decrease appetite and stimulate
the body to burn fat stores for energy.
African mango seed is a good source of several
minerals, including magnesium, iron and potassium, while the pulp is high in
calcium and vitamin C. It contains 18 amino acids, which are the building
blocks of proteins. African mango is a good source of palmitic and lauric
fatty acids. An analysis published in the August 2013 issue of the "Journal of
Agricultural and Food Chemistry" found that the seeds contained ellagic acid.
Researchers exploring the purported benefits of African mango have seen some
promising results. A study appearing in the March 2009 issue of "Lipids in
Health and Disease" concluded that an extract of African mango seeds helped
participants lose weight, improve cholesterol levels and lower blood sugar
levels. Another study, published in the June 2012 edition of the "Dhaka
University Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences," found similar blood-glucose-
lowering effects of African mango seed. And a study that
appeared in the December 2012 "JMBR Journal" revealed that African mango
extract had a beneficial effect on the production of red blood cell components
    .
