    Description

Move over “vintage,” this baby’s ANTIQUE!!
And, as it happens, my favorite kind – 1910 vintage!
    And mechanical!
    And in super condition!
And manufactured by the top-of-the-line Uhlen Carriage Company of Rochester, New York!
Truly, a wonder of the antiques world.  Babykins will go positively wild when she’s seated in the SPRING-LOADED seat!  And discovers that she can propel herself in any direction!
She’ll be banging her silver cup on the tray (about five by eight itself) for immediate service.
And pretty soon she’ll discover that she can mark up your baseboards – what fun!!
Or, Babykins lacking, this marvelous invention will go right into your museum of antique turn-of-the-Century gizmos that scream: America The Great!
This gorgeous item even has its original tag, of brass and affixed to the outside of the ring by rivets.  It proudly states: UHLEN Carriage Company, Rochester, New York.
Do I need to tell you how the tag dates this wonder?  I mean, when were upstate New Yorkers cranking out CARRIAGES?!!  And I’m not talking “horse-less.”
For easy transporting or storage, it compresses (last photo).  You can (relatively) easily bring it up to its intended height of 16 inches (to the top of the wooden ring, whose opening is about 9 3/8 inches).  The diameter of the metal ring, with its four nicely functioning metal wheels, is 27 inches.  The seat is about 10 ½ inches above the ground.  (Quick, measure baby’s legs!)
I’ve been eye-balling babies for the last few days (thankfully not attracting too much attention), since I bought this treasure, and in my humble opinion this would work nicely for a baby that’s between one and 18 months.
Baby will be off to a splendid rolling start in life, and who will be more envious than Baby’s friends… or her parents!?
Measurements: about 27 diameter at the bottom, 16 high.
