    Description

    Cave Rock on U.S. Highway 50 has twin tunnels with two-lane traffic in both tunnels. The first tunnel was blasted through rock in 1931. Cave Rock is considered a sacred place by the Washoe Indian Tribe and they have placed restrictions on recreational activities in the vicinity of the tunnels.
