German Navy NCO Marine School Friedrichsort Cap Tally

Description

This is a German Navy "Marineschule Friedrichsort" NCO Marine School Friedrichsort Cap Tally (KM Mutzenband "Marineschule"). It is full length, 58.5" (149 cm), the 1936 to 1945 pattern, woven, black rayon construction cap tally features machine woven, Gothic script, "Marineschule Friedrichsort," in golden yellow celleon threads. The ends of the tally are cut at a diagonal angle which would create the "swallowtail", affect when applied to the cap. It is in outstanding condition and does not glow under blacklight! I purchased it in 2010 from a private collector. This tally is discussed in "Die Kriegsmarine, Uniforms & Traditions, Vol. 2" by John R. Angolia & Adolf Schlicht (1st Edition), page 28. Don't hesitate as these are becoming more difficult to find in this condition.
