This beautiful brass fireplace screen is in good vintage condition. No unsightly damage - it does have some tarnishing and oxidation which is normal for its age. This has a dark antique brass patina and is one of the heaviest fireplace screens I've run across yet. You may want to polish it - I personally love brass antiques that show their age. The blades are a little "sticky" when you unfold it, but it is easy to unfold, it just won't 'fall open'. The bottom blade likes to come out of its track when you unfold the fan - it is a simple tab that inserts into the track on the previous blade and then it stays in place just fine. It is well worth it's small quirks as it is GORGEOUS. It is unmarked. With arms fully extended, the fan measures 38" wide x 27" tall x 7" deep.
