    Description

    For your consideration William Hocker Set No. 43 - Lord Cardigan Under Fire - from the Famous Charge of the Light Brigade, in the time of the Crimean War. This is the 3rd numbered example of the this fabulous set that Mr. Hocker made, and it is signed by him and dated 12/88 (December 1988) on the underside of the lid, in Near Mint Condition with its Original tie card, and its Original, but a bit faded box, with minor damage (please see photos).
    This very clever mechanical toy is based on the early Britains Horse Race toys. When you pull a string tied around the smaller wheel, sending it spinning, it transfers the energy to the larger wheel that, in turn, propels Lord Cardigan in a circle. With outstretched sword and pelisse flying in the wind, he charges the Russian Lance with Pennon, as the two cannon balls bounce harmlessly around him.
