Description
You are bidding on a SUPERB and VERY RARE example of a 100% ORIGINAL WW2 German Wehrmacht Generalfeldmarschall Shoulder Board!Generalfeldmarschall (from Old High German marahscalc, "marshal, stable master, groom"; English: general field marshal, field marshal general, or field marshal; often abbreviated to Feldmarschall) was a rank in the armies of several German states and the Holy Roman Empire (Reichsgeneralfeldmarschall); in the Habsburg Monarchy, the Austrian Empire and Austria-Hungary, the rank Feldmarschall was used. The rank was the equivalent to Großadmiral (English: Grand Admiral) in the Kaiserliche Marine and Kriegsmarine, a five-star rank, comparable to OF-10 in today's NATO naval forces.
Made of a red wool base, this 1940 2nd pattern Field Marschall Shoulder Board is in AMAZING unissued condition! Features woven strands of Russian braiding, with a central silver braid flanked by dual golden yellow. Probably dates around 1939/1940, as the Baton is the earlier 1st pattern type (issued between 1936 and 1939). Baton is original to this board and was not added later. There is some slight wear and marks due to the age, but nothing that detracts. The HIGHEST rank awarded, it is EXCEEDINGLY RARE in this condition! Would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!

------------------- ABOUT ME -----------------
Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items.
